We at Silly Toast Designs just want to take the time to officially say "Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!" We wouldn't be here without you all and for that, we thank you!
At the start of 2011, we were working out of a cold, concrete auto repair shop stall with no bathroom. My father, Tom Dix Sr. was extremely generous and supportive and he let us use his shop for a very nominal fee (chip in for energy). We were terrible at making t-shirts and spent our evenings learning (and ended up having a LOT of shop towels). As we gained experience and began putting out some quality prints, Death's Door Spirits took notice of my "Thumbs Up Wisconsin" design and decided that they wanted to use it for their own marketng campaign. Luckily, they also chose to have us print their t-shirts, which provided some working capital to purchase more equipment.
At the end of 2011, we currently rent about 3,400 square feet in the Edison Center, located in the flats of Appleton. We finally have a bathroom, along with 4 offices, a giant printing room and a huge dark room. One of the offices has been turned into the air hockey room, but I digress... We currently print for about 25 customers and have sold over 130 shirts with our own designs this year!
It has been a crazy and exciting year. We look forward to another year of growing, learning and improving our skills and abilities in 2012. We are truly grateful for all of the support from our friends, family and Silly Toast customers! Like I said before, without all of you this wouldn't be possible. We would still be playing with a Yudu in my living room... THANK YOU!
Sincerely,
Tom R. Dix
